Service Brakes, Air:supply:hoses, Lines/Piping, And Fittings 2012-10-03 · campaign 12V483000 · 1,807 vehicles
Defect: Altec Industries, Inc. is recalling certain model year 2011-2012 vehicles mounted on a Freightliner chassis. Due to improper installation, the air supply line of the front brakes is susceptible to kinking.
Risk: Overtime, the front brake line could become kinked leading to a loss of front brake control, increasing the risk of crash.
Fix: Altec will notify owners, and will repair the vehicles, free of charge. The safety recall began on January 4, 2013. Owners may contact Altec Industries at 1-877-462-5832.
