2016 Honda Vt1300cx problems, complaints & recalls

Fuel System, Gasoline:storage:tank Assembly 2017-12-13 · campaign 17V805000 · 20 vehicles
Defect: Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2017 Honda VT1300CX Fury motorcycles and 2010 and 2016 Honda VT1300CX Fury motorcycles that received a replacement fuel tank. The fuel tank may be missing welds around the mounting bracket.
Risk: If the welds are missing, the mounting bracket can separate from the tank, allowing fuel to leak and increasing the risk of a fire in the presence of an ignition source.
Fix: Honda will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the fuel tank welds and, as necessary, replace the fuel tank, free of charge. The recall began December 14, 2017. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138.
