2019 Rosenbauer Aerial problems, complaints & recalls

Defect: Rosenbauer America (Rosenbauer) is recalling certain 2018-2020 vehicles. The PTO will disengage causing the aerial to become inoperable due to loss of hydraulic power.
Risk: The aerial device may not be operational when needed at a fire or rescue scene, increasing the risk of an injury.
Fix: Rosenbauer will notify owners, and dealers will change the solenoid and case on the Muncie PTO, free of charge. The recall began December 23, 2020. Owners may contact Rosenbauer customer service at 1-651-462-1000.

the vmux input pin may fail due to a flyback voltage spike from an unsuppressed solenoid coil installed on a hydraulic manifold for the aerial. the solenoid coil will need to be swapped out for a suppressed version to prevent this from happening.
