Defect: Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2020-2021 XLR Boost Toy Hauler recreational vehicles. The Federal Placard and Cargo Carrying Capacity (CCC) label may state a lower weight than the actual weight. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 120, "Wheels and Rims-Other Than Passenger Cars."

Risk: An inaccurate weight on the Federal Placard can cause the vehicle to be overloaded, possibly causing damage to the tires and increasing the risk of a crash.

Fix: Forest River will notify owners and will provide a new Federal Placard and replace any damaged tires, free of charge. The recall began January 8, 2021. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-642-0432. Forest River's number for this recall is 79-1257.

Service bulletins (1)

Technical service bulletins are repair instructions manufacturers send dealers for known issues. Unlike recalls, the fix is not automatically free — but naming the bulletin at the service desk can save diagnosis time and support goodwill repairs.
