Defect: Heartland Recreational Vehicles, LLC (Heartland) is recalling certain 2021 Heartland Pioneer SS171 travel trailers. The Federal Certification label has the incorrect Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) and axle rating. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 120, "Wheels and Rims - Other Than Passenger Cars" and 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification."
Risk: The operator may overload the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Fix: Heartland will mail replacement labels to owners, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on August 9, 2021. Owners may contact Heartland customer service at 1-877-262-8032.

Technical service bulletins are repair instructions manufacturers send dealers for known issues. Unlike recalls, the fix is not automatically free — but naming the bulletin at the service desk can save diagnosis time and support goodwill repairs.

on certain 2021 heartland fuel, torque, sundance, pioneer, prowler travel trailers and 2021 heartland cyclone, gravity, fuel, torque, big horn traveler, milestone, elkridge fifth wheels, an assembly error by our external vendor could cause the actuator to not allow the slide room to retract.
